William Fenner "Wild Bill" Atkinson, 82, passed away at his home in Cora, at the Upper Green, October 17, 2024. Bill was born November 2, 1941 in Somerville, New Jersey to Andrew R. and Catherine B. (Fenner) Atkinson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War in the late 1960's and was honorably discharged and awarded two Bronze Stars for his service. Bill was a trapper and mountain man and he lived that lifestyle at his home cabin in the Upper Green where he tanned hides, made artwork and assembled buckskin clothing. He lived his life on his terms. He was loved and respected by his neighbors and many in the community, and he will be missed. Interment and military graveside funeral honors will be held Friday October 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Pinedale Cemetery.
