Obituary

Travis Justin Tanner passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 1st, 2025 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Travis was born in Bountiful, Utah to his loving parents Leon Williams and Varda Bodily Tanner on July 20, 1972. Travis grew up in Centerville, Utah and attended Jenny P Stewart Elementary, Centerville Jr. High and graduated in 1990 from Viewmont High School where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling.

He married the love of his life, Nickole Ziegler, in the Salt Lake City Temple on July 20th, 2001. He chose the date for one very practical reason, if their anniversary was the same day as his birthday, he'd have no excuse for ever forgetting it. Together they built a beautiful family in Farmington, Utah where they spent 21 years prior to moving to Pinedale, Wyoming in 2022. He found the joy in the beauty of nature, happiest when outdoors in the fresh air, especially in the cold weather he bragged about so much.

He was a man with beautiful brown, loving eyes and gave the best bear hugs. He made everyone around him feel important and loved, to many he was their very best friend. Generous to his core, he would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.

He was proud to work in construction his whole life being a true craftsman and problem solver. His tireless work ethic was unmatched and after a  full day of  work he would then spend late nights building him and his wife's dream home. Travis sacrificed everything he had into supporting his wife and children, making sure they had every opportunity to grow and shine in what they loved.

Travis loved the Savior and lived his life with faith and devotion. He had a gift for teaching and loved sharing the Gospel, whether with adults in Gospel Doctrine or little ones in nursery. He also loved his country and was a true patriot, proud of the freedoms and values it stands for. Also, an avid supporter of all things BYU, he cheered with unwavering loyalty.

He is survived by his devoted wife Nickole, his children Maddison (Trevor), Morgan (Zack), Landon, Olivia, and Reagan, his father Leon Tanner, his grandsons Ridge and Boston, and siblings Nicole, Janet, Jason, Cory. He is preceded in death by his mother Varda Tanner and his brother-in-law Kiley Ziegler.

His legacy of hard work, kindness, patriotism, and love for his family will live on in the countless lives he touched. Philippians 4:13.

Funeral services for Travis will be held in Pinedale, Wyoming, at 2:30 pm on Sunday October 12, 2025 at the LDS church located 221 East North Street Pinedale, Wyoming. Interment will be held at the Pinedale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "Tanner Family Build-Rebuild Fund."
