Obituary

Theodore Ferdinand Jess (Ted), 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy. He is survived by son Kermit (Debby), Tim (Judi), Ted Jr (Oxana), 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Ted was born on August 8, 1925 on a farm in Page, North Dakota to John A. and Alice Victoria (Seymour) Jess. He entered the Navy in 1943 and was discharged in 1947. Ted received Christ as his Savior in 1947. He married Lucy Larson on August 27, 1948. After working in farming and trucking, Ted attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College (1961-1964) and Central Baptist Theological Seminary (1964-1967) preparing for the ministry. Ted served as pastor in Minnesota (Vernon Center, Ham Lake, Anoka, Silver Bay, Wells) and Wyoming (Casper, Glenrock). He retired from employment with Anoka-Hennepin School District as custodian/head custodian and from full-time pastorate, and relocated to Storden, MN. Following the passing of his wife in 2008, Ted relocated to Marbleton, Wyoming, where two of his sons live. Ted enjoyed cross-stitch, puzzles, crossword puzzles and fishing. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11 at 10:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pinedale, Wyoming. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service at the church and family and friends will gather for a reception immediately following the services. Internment date and time to be determined at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul, MN.
