A fine and much loved gentleman, Sam Sharp died in Pinedale, Wyoming on March 17, 2016. Sam was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, on March 20, 1941, to Thomas and Grace Sharp. He grew up in San Diego, California, marrying his High School Sweetheart Beverly Sanders in 1963. Graduates of San Diego State University, the couple moved to El Centro, California in 1967 where Sam began a successful 30 year career at Central Union High School as a History and Government teacher, and then serving as a School Administrator. Upon retirement, Sam decided to return to wild Wyoming, settling in Pinedale in 2000 with his wife Bev. An avid fly fisherman, Sam actively pursued collecting fine bamboo fly rods. He immensely enjoyed camping, boating and loved fishing the rivers of our awesome western mountains. Sam and wife Bev traveled in Europe and all over the western hemisphere from Alaska to Costa Rica, and later enjoyed spending time in a vacation home they built on a beautiful beach in Baja, after extensive travel in Mexico. Sam was involved in Trout Unlimited, CURED (Citizens United for Responsible Energy Development), and served on the Board of Trustees for the MUSEUM of the MOUNTAIN MAN located in Pinedale, WY. These charities would welcome any donations. His wife, family and friends will miss this loving man dearly.
