Robert Louis Stevenson (Cowboy Bob): Born on December 29, 1945 in York, Pennsylvania, passed away September 4, 2016 at his home in Bondurant, Wyoming. Bob was raised in and graduated from high school in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and Elmira College where he received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Police Sciences in 1975. Cowboy Bob was a man among men, who was loved by many and contributed much to the community of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Bob served as an officer of the Jackson Hole Police Department from 1975 to the mid 1980's. But his passion and love for Jackson Hole and Yellowstone National Park led him to become a certified Yellowstone National Park's tour guide for the rest of his life. Serving in this role was the heart of Cowboy Bob; he was admired for his vast knowledge of Yellowstone's history and creation, its native people, and the creature beings among it; particularly the bears, he could tell great stories of his life experiences with them. His knowledge and respect for this land was immense and no words could express his love for it, he lived it. Bob was an avid fly fisherman and was noted for his skill and great love for the sport. His sense of humor was delightful, and he could make you laugh until you cried. He was a remarkable individual with great love for his country. Bob was a Vietnam vet where he served in the U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S Henderson from 1965 to 1969 as a guard and rescue swimmer. Bob was a Christian man and a member of the Presbyterian church; he held much faith in God. Cowboy Bob is survived by one son, Shawn Robert Stevenson; daughter-in-law, Edie May Stevenson; his best friend and former wife, Sherrie Lynn Stevenson; two stepsons, Josh and Zach Harris; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a great tribe of many more friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Doris (Cooper) Stevenson; his sister, Cathy Stevenson; and his first wife, Joyce Ellen Escott, his son's mother. Cowboy Bob did not wish to have a funeral, but a Celebration of Life service will be set for him in September of next year. Cowboy Bob will be remembered as a great man here on Earth, and the greatest National Parks tour guide in Yellowstone. He is now the greatest tour guide in the National Parks of Heaven!
