Stott
Nov 9, 1974 — Jan 30, 2020
Pinedale
After a courageous fight, our beloved Richard "Richie" William Stott passed away on January 30, 2020 from complications following a surgery. He was 45 years old.
Richie was born November 9, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona. He moved to Pinedale, Wyoming in 1976 with his parents. He attended school here, graduating in 1994. Richie played baseball, football and the saxophone in high school. He was also very artistic and wrote several poems. He moved to Cheyenne in 1995 and worked at the Cheyenne Airport and the The Hitching Post. He was also a mover and roofer until he became ill in 2017. Richie lost his legs due to a severe hemorrhage. He was transferred to several hospitals in Salt Lake City, then to Mt. Olympus Rehabilitation Center for a year. While there, he learned to walk with prosthetics and went to a prosthetics physical therapy boot camp in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Richie was perseverant, resilient and never complained; he was able to move into his own apartment in 2019.
Richie was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pinedale. He was loved by all and made may friends wherever he went. He was very giving and made his friends and family laugh often. He will be sorely missed.
Richie is preceded in death by his grandparents Dick and Nancy Stott of Pinedale, WY and William "Bill" Richard Puder of Casper, WY; uncles John Puder of Big Timber, MT and Bill "Billy Red" Weller of San Antonio, TX; and cousin Angie Jones of Casper, WY.
