Obituary

Rebecca Sue Briggs, age 69, of Pinedale, Wyoming died on Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born on October 13, 1954 in Montpelier, Idaho to Robert Einzinger and Lois Danks. She grew up in Montpelier, Idaho and spent many years there until moving to Smithfield, Utah where she spent the majority of her life. She has lived in Pinedale, Wyoming for the past few years while fighting a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer.

Our mom has such a close-knit group of friends that she has been friends with for most of her life. They were her family. They all had so many great experiences together and she definitely has all the pictures to prove it. My mom was an avid picture taker. Not just digital pictures but actually getting them printed out and making sure everyone had copies of the good ones. She has boxes of pictures of memories from childhood to current times. When her cancer diagnosis took a turn for the worse, she decided to make all of her children and grandchildren photo albums from throughout the years so we would each have our own special book of memories. Even after all that she still has boxes and boxes of pictures. Anyone who knew her knew she had a deep love for elephants. She said it was her spirit animal. And at one time she had quite the collection of elephant figurines and pictures. Mom was also a lover of traveling. She had many adventures throughout her life and with many different people. Meeting new people along the way. She could talk to anyone and was always interested in other people's lives. During my mom's life in Smithfield she loved to take care of her yard. She could always be found outside working on her gardening. She had a beautiful yard and took great pride in taking care of it. It brought her peace to be outside working on her yard and updating her home. As long as I can remember mom has always had dogs of some sort. Her favorite was Boxers. But more specific her last dog, Zeke. He was her baby and my mom absolutely loved him. I am sure her reunion with him was wonderful and now they can travel the skies forever. She adored her grandchildren and was such an amazing Grandma. Always making sure to call them and see how their lives were going and to just chat.

Mom was diagnosed around 5 years ago with ovarian cancer. After a successful round of chemo the cancer came back pretty fast and then upgraded to terminal. She fought it almost up until the end. Despite the tiresome doctors' appointments and chemo she strived to maintain a positive attitude and was still up for an adventure when her body would allow it.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her dad, Robert Einzinger; mom, Lois Danks; and brother, Randall Einzinger.

Rebecca is survived by her 3 children; Andrea Albright, Amber Wolaver and Jesse Briggs and her 4 grandchildren; Colten Briggs, Skyler Erickson, Huntyr Schvaneveldt and Shyloh Schvaneveldt.

To honor my mother's wishes there will be no funeral service or gathering. The family invites you to privately celebrate Rebecca's memory in your own way. I know she will be with us all in spirit and probably have something sassy to say while watching us from above.
