Ramon Rel
Sambrano
Apr 29, 1953 — Jul 4, 2025
Big Piney
Ramon Rel Sambrano, better known to all as "Butter", passed away at his home on July 4, 2025 in Big Piney, WY. Ramon Sambrano was born April 29, 1953 to Manuel Sr. and Inez Sambrano in Las Cruces, NM as the third of five children, he joined brother Manuel Jr and sister Francis, closely followed by his brother Steven and sister Patricia. Manny referred to his new little brother as his "brudder" which progressed then stuck as we all know him now as Butter.
While attending Lynn junior high, Butter met the love of his life, his soulmate Maxine Murillo. Though she spent weeks scolding him for stepping on her white tennis shoes, she finally agreed to go on a date with him. Since that day her and Butter were inseparable, along with her sisters Dolores and Terry, since Maxine was not allowed to go anywhere without them.
Butter and Maxine were married in Las Cruces on July 6, 1974 and the next year they welcomed their first child Virginia, followed by the births of their sons Roman and Carlos. Then 8 years later they were surprised by the birth of their second daughter, Monica. Their family was now complete - 2 boys and 2 girls just as they always wanted.
Butter attended a trade school in NM to become a certified welder, but ultimately came back to Las Cruces and worked for the family business as a plasterer until an injury forced him to take on a different role. He was proud to be a plasterer and loved being able to share that skill with his sons. He later received his own License and started MJ&R Lath & Plaster Construction.
In 2012, Butter and Maxine moved to Wyoming to be closer to the majority of their grandchildren and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful scenery. Butter was happiest when he was surrounded by his family, whether it be camping in the mountains, BBQ's on the back porch or on Sunday's while watching the Raiders play.
Butter is preceded in death by his wife Maxine, parents Manuel and Inez, parents-in-law Sismundo & Susie Murillo, brother Steven Sambrano and sister-in-law Helen Telles.
He is survived by his sons Roman (Neilou) Sambrano of Big Piney, WY; Carlos Sambrano of Las Cruces, NM, son-in-law Shaun Sevenski of Ortonville, MI; daughters Virginia Sambrano of Ortonville, MI; Monica Sevenski of Big Piney, WY; brother Manuel Sambrano Jr. of Las Cruces, NM; sisters Frances(Albert) Apodoca of Moriarty, NM; Patricia(Scott) Zambardi, Las Cruces NM; grandchildren Angelica, Adrian, Alize Sambrano; Alexis(John)Chekan, Xavia, Cecilia, Marisela Sambrano; Joshua, Mylie and Maximiliano Sambrano; Izaiha, Audree, Liberty, Arrey, Joziah, and Anju-Lee Sevenski; great-grandchildren, Aliza Sambrano, Caylub Norby , Harlow Sambrano, Phoenix Gurr, Kaleah Sevenski, John(JR)Chekan, and many nieces and nephews that he loved like his own children.
