Obituary

Lifelong Pinedale resident Ralph T. Faler Sr., 88, passed away Monday February 28, 2022 at the hospital in Rock Springs. Ralph was born November 15, 1933 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming to Elmer and Ernesta (Postel) Faler, one of three siblings with his brother Bill and Sister Judy. He started his schooling in Pinedale at age 5 when he began the 1 st grade. He was able to skip the 8 th grade because of high academics and high class capacity at the time and this allowed him to graduate early from Pinedale High School in 1950, at the age of 16.

Following graduation, Ralph served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War and in the reserves for the next six years. He was stationed in Alaska with the Second Platoon, Company A 23 rd Armored Infantry. After returning home from his military service he became a hunting guide and started a taxidermy business with his brother Bill in 1955; this became his passion and career for the next 63 years, retiring in 2018.

He married his lifetime partner and sweetheart Charlotte Fay Brewer on May 28, 1960 in Pinedale, WY. To this union were born two children: Ralph Jr. in 1962 and Elana in 1965. Throughout his life Ralph was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing, rock hunting and many forms of artwork. He was a big Wyoming Cowboys sports fan!

Ralph is survived by his wife Charlotte Faler; son Ralph T. Faler Jr.; daughter Lana Koppenhafer; and three grandchildren Warren and Kyla Koppenhafer and Talon Faler. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ernesta Faler; brother Wiliam "Bill" Faler and sister Judith "Judy" Faler. A memorial service will be held Thursday March 3 rd at 3:00 p.m. at the Pinedale Library, Lovatt Room and a reception will immediately follow the service there at the library.
