It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of Paul Miller, who passed away September 7, 2022 at his home in Pinedale, Wyoming surrounded by his loving family and friends.  Paul fought a valiant battle with Colorectal cancer for the past 8 years.  Despite the pain, Paul came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Paul was born February 6, 1967 in Rexburg, Idaho. He grew up and attended school in Jackson, Wyoming. Paul met the love of his life, Kimberlee Curtis, in Jackson, Wyoming on November 16, 1990.  They married one year later on the same date they met: November 16, 1991 in Jackson, Wyoming. During this union they were blessed with 4 precious children—Marrisa, Tuff, Trey and Kashe.

Paul learned his love of construction from Grandpa Stone.  He later started his own construction company (Miller Custom Homes) and, along with his son Tuff, built many custom homes in Idaho, Wyoming and South Dakota.  Many people he built homes for became some of his best friends.

Paul's love of the outdoors came from spending hours hunting, fishing and collecting pine cones with his dad (Huggy). He continued that love of the outdoors with his boys Tuff and Kashe along with many friends.

Paul's family has fond memories of going to the mountains and picking huckleberries.  Paul loved huckleberry shakes and would say "what a waste" if you used the huckleberries for anything else.

Paul also loved football; his favorite team was the Raiders.  Last year Paul was well enough, so his friend Brad Trefren surprised him with tickets to attend his first NFL game and watch the Raiders play in Las Vegas. Paul met Brad 20 years ago on a fishing trip in Portland, Oregon.  They became great friends and spent the next 20 years working, traveling and exploring together.  In 2019 Paul and his family joined Brad and his wife Kim on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to South Africa.  Brad and Kim were by his side until the very end.

Paul led a short but full life, admired and respected by anyone with whom he came in contact.  He represented the very best qualities a man could offer—loving kindness, honesty and persistent cheerfulness. Family always came first and he loved sharing his life with his beautiful wife (Kim), his children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends.  If you asked Paul what his greatest joy is he would say being Papa to his granddaughters Maci and Maren.

Paul's outlook on life was—"If you help someone you might just make a friend." Paul has made many friends throughout his life and he treasured every one of them.

Paul will be missed by Kim, his wife of 31 years; daughter Marrisa (Mike) Lutz of Pinedale, Wy; sons Tuff and Kashe Miller of Pinedale, Wy; granddaughters Maci and Maren of Pinedale, Wy; mother Patricia Ashment of Mesa, AZ; brothers and sisters Ronnie (Maureen) Miller of Parker, ID; Sheila (Bruce) DeRize of Driggs, ID; Nancy (Carl) Pivik of Idaho Falls, ID; Corrine (Tim) Creviston of Scottsdale, AZ; Darren (Lori) Miller of Jacksonville, OR; numerous other family members; and many, many friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Clarence (Huggy) Wenzel, father Gordon Miller, son Trey Edward Miller, nephew Matt Errico, grandparents Ronald and Iola Stone and grandparents Lawrence and Ruth Miller.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Solomon and all the wonderful nurses and staff at St. John's Oncology and Carrie at pain management.  Your kindness and understanding helped Paul through his difficult journey with Colorectal cancer.

The family will have a private service at a later date.

In lieu of sending flowers, his family said Paul loved acts of kindness.  So do an act of kindness for someone, or donate your time volunteering at Oncology or helping a family in need.  Paul also loved flowers, you could give a flower to someone special in his memory. Donate a plaque for a bench at the CCC ponds or at one of the parks around town, his children and grandchildren go on daily walks to these places. Think of him while you're hunting in his favorite mountains of Wyoming. Donate in his memory to the Sydney Lee Judge Foundation at the Bank of Jackson Hole—Paul loved the Judge family. Stop and say hi and see if his wife or boys need help with anything.
