Martin "Sprout" Wardell Jr., 83, of Big Piney, Wyoming passed away peacefully at his home May 18, 2016 with his family at his side. Sprout was born February 9, 1933 in Murray, Utah to Martin and Alice (Hill) Wardell. He did his schooling as a child at the Riverside School at the Forks of the River until the 6th grade and graduated from Big Piney High School in 1951. He worked for the Upper Green River Cattle Association and then served in the US Army in Germany from 1953 to 1955. He married his sweetheart Jane Franch April 11, 1956 at home near Big Piney; to this union one son was born, Robert Eddie Wardell. Sprout spent his life doing what he loved, working his ranch on the Green River with his family. He is survived by his wife Jane; son Eddie (Elizabeth) Wardell and grand step-daughters Brittany and Katherine Heseltine and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents; aunts & uncles and extended family. Cremation has taken place and memorial services are pending.
