Obituary

Marilyn Lousie McGarr, 68, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on May 13, 2016 at the Univertsity of Utah Medical Center. A resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming for the past four years and former resident of Pinedale, Wyoming, Mrs. McGarr died following a month long illness.

She was born on July 8, 1947 in Fresno, California, the daughter of William Daul Tompkins and Effie May Day Tompkins.

Mrs. McGarr was a member of the Baptist Church.

She attended schools in California and graduated from Franklin Sr. High School with the class of 1965.

Mrs. McGarr married James McGarr in Tillicum, Washington April 8, 1965. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2009 in Pinedale, Wyoming.

She was employed at the Sublette County Sheriffs Office for twenty years and retired in 2011. She then worked part time for Rock Springs Horse Palace for the past five years.

Her interests included spending time with family espically her grandchildren, collecting porclean mice, camping, gambling and enjoying the great outdoors.

Survivors include her two sons, Christopher and wife Lynn McGarr of Pinedale, Wyoming, Brandon and Tanya McGarr of Rock Springs, Wyoming, one sister Caroline Lopez of Sacramento, California, five grandchildren, Lauren McGarr of San Antonio, Texas, Michael McGarr of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Casey McGarr of Riverton, Wyoming, Shawn McGarr and Alannah McGarr both of Pinedale, Wyoming, one great-grandson Brantley DePree of San Antonio, Texas, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Covill Funeral Home, 164 North Bridger, Pinedale, Wyoming. Graveside Services and Inurnment will be conducted in the Pinedale City Cemetery. Following the graveside service a luncheon will be served at the VFW Post 4801, 133 West Pine, Pinedale, Wyoming
