With a hole in our heart we said goodbye to our dear sister Linda, who at age 76 went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2024.

Linda was born on February 21, 1948 in Rangely, Colorado to Earl and Barbara Donaldson. After traveling around with Service Pipeline, our parents settled in Thermopolis and raised their family there. Linda graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1966.

After leaving Thermopolis Linda met and married Don Burns in June 1988. They became an over the road truck driving team, making the million mile club. Linda could drive, park and backup that big semi, so at times she went on the road by herself, especially after Don became ill. She loved to travel and see new sites so this suited her well. She retired from over the road trucking after Don's death in May 2000.

Linda moved back to Wyoming to reside in Lander. She enrolled at Central Wyoming College and finished her associate's degree in Human Services in 2005, graduating with high honors. She moved to Cody, Wyoming to be closer to her beloved Yellowstone, and resided there until her death.

Linda had a kind, gentle, and gracious heart. She gave to all generously. She helped her family, friends and church. She was a wonderful big sister, calling to check on her siblings regularly and was there for the major events in our lives. Linda loved the Lord, studying his word and appreciated his handiwork during her visits to Yellowstone.

Survivors include siblings, Russ and Chris Donaldson, Elaine Donaldson Long, Terry and Veronica Donaldson, and Stella and Dan Cole, as well as many nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Burns and brother-in-law Mike Long.

Celebration of life will be Wednesday November 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Church, 1202 29th Street, Cody with Pastor Larry Burkhart presiding.
