Leroy was born to Luther & Barbara Matlock in Skiatook, Oklahoma on June 18th, 1943, and entered the presence of angels on August 20, 2026.
In the early 60's their family moved to Big Piney, WY. Leroy married Bonnie Willoughby and had three children, Tommy, Kenny & Ricky.
The greatest joy of his life was hunting in the mountains of the Wyoming Range, fishing the Green River, Newfork River, and Middle Piney Lakes. Family being an important part of his joy for the outdoors, every June for many decades the family camped in Packer, WY.
Leroy worked in the oil field industry for Haliburton Services for 35 years ending his career as a Special Projects Manager. Before finally retiring, to become an Oil Field Consultant.
On August 19, 2000, Leroy married Linda Brown and shared the last 26 years together in both Colorado and Wyoming.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leon and George, sisters Freda Jones and Alene Goines, daughter-in-law, DaLinn Matlock, granddaughter, Kayla Matlock, and step-son, Michael Manzanares. He is survived by his wife, Linda, sons Tommy (Brenda), Ricky (Shawna), Kenny, step-daughters Nicole Sawyer and Adrienne Manzanares; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Leroy will be remembered as a simple man, a loyal friend, and someone who trusted others and gave freely of himself. He was always willing to teach if you wanted to learn, never asking for much in return. His quiet kindness, steady friendship, and willingness to share what he knew will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Leroy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered
Graveside services will be held in Big Piney, WY at Plainview Cemetery, Sunday, August 23rd at 10:00am.
