Kay
Palmer
May 8, 1943 — Apr 18, 2026
Big Piney
Kathryn "Kay" Palmer, 82, of Big Piney, Wyoming was born May 8, 1943, in Kemmerer, Wyoming, to James Daniel and Leanora Dorthea Picerno, and passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 surrounded by love ones.
Kay married Oliver "Vern" Palmer on September 22, 1962, in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Together they shared 64 years of marriage and raised four children: James C. Palmer (Jennifer) of Riverside, California; Michael A. Palmer (Elizabeth) of Dallas, Texas; Douglas V. Palmer of Big Piney, Wyoming; and Tammy K. Florquist (Kraig) of Lander, Wyoming.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Known as "Noner," she treasured her grandchildren: Madyson Palmer, Hadassah (Marshall) Hiner, Jace Florquist, and Joel Florquist (Becky); and her great-grandchildren: Malachi, Hezekiah, and Zipporah Hiner.
Kay had a gift for hospitality. Her home always had an extra chair at the table, and she welcomed all with a warm meal and open heart. She loved cooking, caring for others, and bringing people together. She also loved dancing, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now dancing on streets of gold.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jimmy and Frankie; a pre-term baby girl; and many extended family members.
Kay will be remembered for her love, faith, and the way she made everyone feel at home.
