Obituary

Joe Lyle Sanders, 50, of Big Piney, WY passed away Saturday evening April 18 as result of a motorcycle accident in Boulder, WY. Joe was born August 11, 1964 in Riverton, WY to David and Lela Sanders. Joe started his schooling in Big Piney before his family moved to England where he attended Bradwell American School. He and his family then moved back to Big Piney where he graduated from Big Piney High School. After High school he enlisted and served his country in the U.S. Army. He served with the Airborne Rangers as a paratrooper, infantryman. He served in Korea and Germany along with his stations in the U.S. Following his military service he worked in the oil and gas field, then went to Cheyenne Aero Tech and became a certified Airplane Mechanic. Most recently his job has been here in Sublette Co. driving truck in the gas fields. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling, arrowhead hunting, and precious stones. His family, Harley and dogs were his life. He is survived by his father David Sanders, brother James (Karon) Sanders and several aunts, uncles, cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Lela Sanders, and grandparents Marshall and Ona Gurney, May (Sanders) Ed Leikam and Charles "Butch" Sanders. A memorial funeral service will be held Friday April 24 at 11:00 A.M. at the Marbleton Senior Center. Interment & military honors will follow in the Plainview Cemetery.
