James "Jimmy" Martin Mackey, 59, of Marbleton, Wyoming passed away at his home April 18, 2021 of natural causes. Jimmy was born in Kemmerer, Wyoming May 23, 1961 to Millo Frank and Verna Lou (Douglas) Mackey; he was the eldest of 4 siblings. He grew up and attended school in Big Piney and did some college courses at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs where he studied geology and petroleum engineering. Rocks were one of Jimmy's hobbies; he considered himself a "rock hound". When he was outside he was always on the lookout for interesting rocks and arrowheads. He worked as a derrick-hand in the oil & gas field and he enjoyed doing work on the work-over rigs. Jimmy is survived by his father Millo Mackey, two brothers Jerry and C.J. Mackey and his sister Belinda Hanson. He is preceded in death by his mother Verna Jones, brother Leonard Mackey and his grandparents Martin and Evelyn Douglas. Cremation has been entrusted to Covill Funeral Home and a celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at a later date.
