Jimmy Cash
Grimes
Aug 2, 1955 — Jan 19, 2023
Boulder
Jimmy Cash Grimes, 67, passed away at his beloved home in Boulder, Wyoming on January 19, 2023. Jimmy was born in Dallas, Texas August 2, 1955 to James Carlton and Mae Laverne Grimes. They took their young son on a vacation to Wyoming and decided Wyoming would be their new home. They both took teaching jobs and settled in Casper. Jimmy graduated on May 24, 1973 from Natrona County High School.
Shortly after graduation he married Carol Ann Schafer and to this union were born Leah Marie, Amber Mae and Misty Lee Grimes. He took a job with Exxon in 1982 and moved his family to Boulder, Wyoming where he worked at the Black Canyon Dehydration Facility as an instrument and safety technician near LaBarge. He worked hard and lovingly provided for his family for 30+ years; he retired in 2013. He then worked for Brunel Intl. as a consultant at an Exxon project in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea until 2015.
When he wasn't working Jimmy enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, hunting, training and riding horses with his family. Some of his favorite memories are hunting trips with his daughters. He also enjoyed computers and built three of his own. In his younger days he was a volunteer for the Boulder Fire Dept. Jimmy also served as the district water commissioner and contact for district three of the Fayette Irrigation District for many years.
He is survived by his wife Carol, (Boulder) daughters Amber Grimes (Pinedale) and Misty Grimes (Denver) and sister Mona Schaaf (Glen) of Huntsville, TX.
A celebration of life will be held in Pinedale in the late spring of 2023.
