Helen Rose Sulenta Tanner, 76, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016. She was born on September 21, 1939 in Rock Springs, WY to Andrew and Carmella (Urlich) Sulenta. Helen grew up in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School. She then attended the University of Wyoming where she met her husband Bob. They were married in 1959 and moved to Big Piney, a place she loved and called home for 56 years. Helen was involved in many entrepreneurial adventures including a bowling alley, Pit and Primer, Rosie's, Marbleton Inn and the Waterhole #3. She was active in the community and always had a smile and a kind word and touched many lives through the years. Helen's greatest joy were her children and grand-children. She was their biggest fan cheering them on with great vigor and enthusiasm at their sporting events and activities. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin as well as boating, traveling, snowmobiling, exploring and laughing with family and friends. Helen loved playing games and was quick witted and welcomed a challenge. She was preceded in death by her father Andrew K. Sulenta, sister Emma Bamesberger, step-father Ermete Segna, mother Carmella Sulenta Segna, brother John M. Sulenta and sister Caroline Sulenta. She is survived by her husband Bob Tanner and their children Dana Martin (Bob) of Littleton, CO, Kim Tanner of Big Piney, Bill Tanner (Kenda) and their children Jak and Grace of Big Piney, and her grand-dogs Cooper and Mazy as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Helen will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her charisma, sense of humor, generous spirit and kindness. She made an impression on all who knew her and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Big Piney Booster Club at P.O. Box 25 Big Piney, WY 83113. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on April 8th at 3:00 p.m. at the Southwest Sublette County Pioneers (Big Piney Senior Center).
