Harry Frederick Steele, 93, a lifelong resident of Pinedale, passed away at his home on March 20, 2015. Harry was born July 13, 1921 to Frank and Lydia Steele. He graduated from Pinedale High School. After attending one semester at the University of Wyoming Harry joined the service where he was a flight instructor. Harry married Mary Ellen Bliss from Mt. Ayr, Iowa September 19, 1948, 66 ½ years ago! Together they worked on the family ranch until Harry retired. Harry was a lifetime member of the Green River Cattleman's Association. His interests include spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, 4 wheeling, exploring new places, traveling, and watching sporting events on television. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; three children, Nancy (Richard) Hulen, Forrest (Frosty) Steele, and Phyllis (Bill) Mehle; grandchildren Sherri Thomas of Scarborough, ME, Tara Green of Pinedale, Nick and Nathan Steele of Longmont, CO, and Brian Mehle of Rock Springs, WY; great-grandchildren Emerson, Nolan and Gannon Thomas of Scarborough, ME, and Aspyn and Austin (Woody) Green of Pinedale. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edward and Roy Steele and sister Erma Shriver. A memorial funeral service will be held Saturday April 25 at 11:00 A.M. at Covill Funeral Home in Pinedale. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Sommers Homestead Living History Museum or charity of your choice.
