Clifton Gordon Jewett, D.V.M., (Gordon), of Otis Orchards, Washington, passed away suddenly at the age of 71 from heart-related issues at his cabin in Kendall Valley, Wyoming, June 20, 2025. Gordon was born in April 1954, in Ogden, Utah, to Dean Gordon and Cornelia (Fear) Jewett. He attended St. Olaf Catholic School and other elementary schools in Utah. As a child he spent his summers at the Fear family's ranches in Big Piney.

After graduating from Bountiful High School, he attended Utah State University for a short time. On October 28, 1978, he married Teresa Kay Sievers, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Pinedale, Wyoming. To this union, Clifton Caleb Jewett was born in 1988.

The winter following their wedding, Gordon worked on the Mike Noble Ranch in Cora. That following summer, he and his wife worked for the Green River Cattlemen's Assn. at the Bend of the Green River.

Gordon realized he didn't want to work as a cowboy for the rest of his life, so he decided to give college another try. He graduated from the University of Wyoming, with honors, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1983. He was accepted to Kansas State University's School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with honors in 1987.

Gordon started his career in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he worked for one year. He then worked at Ponti Animal Clinic in Otis Orchards, Washington. He decided he did not want to work for someone else, so he designed and built his own clinic, All Creatures Veterinary Clinic, which opened in Spokane Valley, Washington, in 1992.

Gordon was a devout Catholic; he attended daily masses at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral in Spokane and participated in their prayer chains for many years. He was good friends with Fr. Connell and many of the sisters and cared for their pets as well. He was part of a community outreach program where he donated his services vaccinating and caring for the animals belonging to the homeless and needy people in the region. He was an avid reader and was a great chef who loved to cook. He was an outdoorsman, and he enjoyed hiking, 4-wheeling and photography.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa K. Jewett, son C. Caleb Jewett, sisters Roberta Jewett and Patricia Buckley. He is preceded in death by his parents Dean G. Jewett and Cornelia Fear Robinson, paternal grandparents Charles Gordon Jewett and Lora Neal Jewett, and maternal grandparents Clifton Fear Sr. and Cornelia L. Fear.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday July 3rd at 2:00 PM at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Big Piney. Interment will follow the services in the Plainview Cemetery.
