George Leroy "Roy" Snow was born on March 11, 1937 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the eldest of five sons born to George and Hannah (Pryde) Snow. He passed away at the age of 79 on November 18, 2016 at the Sublette Center in Pinedale, Wyoming. Roy grew up in the Hoback Canyon and Pinedale where he attended school. He married Grace Boyce on April 15, 1958. To this union was born Terry (Dean) Light in November 18, 1960 and Henry "Hank" Snow in February 15, 1965. They lived many years in the Hoback where Roy worked for area ranchers. They were divorced in 1978. Roy moved to Big Piney, Wyoming where he bought a small "ranch" where he kept a few cows and horses and various other "critters" which were always a part of his life. Roy also worked many years as a Sublette County deputy in the Big Piney area and also as a "ditch rider" for the irrigation district. Here he met and married Peggy DesEnfants. When their health began to fail, ever together, they moved to the Pinedale Sublette Center. Roy was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, infant son Brook, parents George and Hannah Snow, younger brothers Ray (Eloise), Ron and Karl and nephew Rodney Snow. He is survived by daughter Terry and son Hank of Florida, grandsons-Neil Henry and Michael John Light. Great grandchildren Jackson, Jameson, Zain, and Aemilia Light, all of Florida and brother Dennis (Sandy) of Glendive, MT. Sisters-in-law, Jeanette Snow of Greeley, CO; and Connie Snow of Ocean Side, CA and many great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Darlene Penton of Pinedale, WY who was like a sister and took wonderful care of both Roy and Peg these last few years. There are no words adequate enough to thank her for all she has done. Roy's wishes were to be cremated and to have his ashes laid to rest beside his wife Peggy in the Pinedale Cemetery. No formal services will be held at this time.
