George Edward Minneman, 90, of Daniel, Wyoming passed away August 12, 2018 at the Sublette Center in Pinedale. George was born October 30, 1927 to George and Gina (Christianson) Minneman in Rankin, Illinois. George was a Navy veteran of WWII and served on the ship USS Tamalpols as a Fireman 1st class in the Pacific Theater. After the war he was employed by the Lauhouf Company, as an accountant, in Danville, Illinois and later would serve for many years as president of the credit union there. He and his wife Joan enjoyed traveling together, the national parks, golf and bowling; his family was always his greatest love. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. George is survived by his wife Joan Swaim Minneman; step children Dereth (Jim) Gehlhausen of Daniel, WY; Lee Ann Curtis of Columbia City, IN; and Danise (Jim) Baird of Greencastle, IN; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren along with his many friends and neighbors over the years. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Bradley Minneman and sister Mary Baily. A funeral service will be held Friday August 17th at 11:00 AM at Covill Funeral Home in Pinedale; viewing will take place one hour prior the service at the funeral home. Interment and military honors will follow the services in the Pinedale Cemetery.
