Obituary

Gary Steele Lozier, 69, of Big Piney passed away at his home June 28, 2016. Gary was born July 13, 1946 in Jackson, Wyoming to Jack and Ellen (Steele) Lozier. He graduated from Pinedale High School and in his earlier days loved to rodeo where he did men's team roping and rode saddle-broncs. He worked at several ranches throughout his life and also was an outfitter and guide. He married his lifelong sweetheart Sharlene Potter on July 12, 1969 in Pinedale and together raised three boys. Gary was a member of the Lions Club, helped with Chuckwagon Days and brought the Little Buckeroo Rodeo to Sublette County; Gary loved being a cowboy! He is survived by his wife Sharlene; sons Bryon (Mandi) Lozier and Monte Lozier; mother, Ellen Lozier; sisters Becky Stilwell, Gayle Lozier and Lynn Hannon; brother Deb Lozier and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Tad Lozier; Father Jack Lozier; and his mother and father-in-law Donna and Dee Potter. A memorial funeral service will be held Tuesday July 5th at 1:00 P.M. at the L.D.S. Church in Big Piney. Family and friends will gather at the Marbleton Senior Center for a reception following the service.
