Erwin "Hiss" Elmer Hissey, 92, of Pinedale, Wyoming passed away peacefully March 30, 2026 at Heritage Home in Pinedale.

Erwin was born January 5, 1934 in Washington Township, Wisconsin to Elmer and Sarah (Ewing) Hissey. He was the only boy in a family of four sisters: Kathryn, Marilyn, Evelyn and Carol Ann.

He completed his formal education and graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1953. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country overseas in Germany during the mid-1950's.

He married Suzanne (Manville) Hissey on August 6, 1960 in Germantown, Wisconsin and together they had three children Lance, Layne, and Lanae; Suzanne & Erwin were later divorced.

Erwin worked for the railroad and then later in the petroleum industry for Mid America Pipeline. Erwin moved to Pinedale in the early 1990's and loved the mountains and the outdoors and would be found hunting and fishing whenever he had the opportunity. Erwin was a Christian and always carried the love of Jesus throughout his life.

He is survived by his son Lance Hissey; granddaughter Teresa Morrison and her children Lorin and Dodge; sisters Kathryn M. Ray and Marilyn R. Csire and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Sarah Hissey; daughter Lanae Hissey; son Layne Hissey; and sisters Evelyn and Carol Ann Hissey.

Erwin's wishes were to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
