On the morning of November 22, 2021 long time valley resident Ernest Albitre succumbed to his battle with pancreatic cancer at his home in Hoback Ranches with two of his children by his side. Ernest was born November 29, 1941 in Bakersfield California to parents Bautista "Boy" Albitre and Nellie Gamino.

Ernest was the the third oldest sibling in the family of ten and is survived by bother John Albitre (Lucy), brother Joseph Albitre (Roselind), brother James Albitre (Karen), brother Robert Albitre (Debbie), sister Bernadette Liphart (Matt) and sister Cindy Thompson (Rick).

"Ernie" left his position of Captain in the Kern County Fire Department and moved to Jackson Hole in 1978 with his third wife Elsie Eileen Thompson to pursue his passion for hunting big game. Remick Isaac Albitre was born in May 1980 followed by Marcus Isaiah in 1984. Besides being an avid hunter was a dedicated single father, a competent masonry contractor, church elder and general positive role model for many people he came across.

Ernest was also survived by his four children Michelle Lynn Luttrell, Moria Myonenko, Remick Albitre and Marcus Albitre.

In passing from this life he will join his parents Bautista and Nellie Albitre and sisters Evelyn Aries, Betty Aros and Dolly Albitre.
