Elaine (Foster) Ladygo, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2026. She was born on October 25, 1931, in Rome, Ohio, to E. Charles and Winnifred (Wood) Foster. She had an older brother, Eugene Foster, and a younger sister, Joyce Reed. Elaine graduated from New Lyme-Deming High School in 1949. She and Edward Ladygo were married in October of 1954 and made their home on the farm in East Trumbull, Ohio. There they raised three children: Robert, Karen, Linda, and a niece, Stacy.

Elaine was the elected Clerk of Trumbull Township for 32 years. She was an active member of the New Lyme Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as church clerk for many years. Elaine was a wonderful homemaker and cook, especially known for her excellent pies and rolls. A few years after the death of her husband, she moved to Wyoming to live near her older daughter. There she became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pinedale. Elaine made many friends in her senior apartment community and enjoyed watching moose and deer from her window.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Ed, daughter-in-law Debbie Ladygo, and great-grandson Edsel Cordes. She is survived by her children: Robert Ladygo of Florida, Karen (Dan) Stewart of Wyoming, Linda (Daniel) Wallace of Virginia, and Stacy (Ivan) Muzljakovich of Oklahoma. She dearly loved her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with three more great-grandchildren on the way.

In her last few years, Elaine was dearly loved and well-cared for by the staff of the Heritage Home in Pinedale, Wyoming.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm at the New Lyme Baptist Church, 1280 Dodgeville Road, in New Lyme Township, Ohio. Funeral Service will be at 1 pm, with burial to follow at the East Trumbull Cemetery.
