Doris Piro, 83, of San Pedro, California passed away October 15, 2017 in Prescott, Arizona. Doris was born April 24, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to George and Gertrude Elizabeth Monk. She did her former schooling and graduated high school in Los Angeles. She married her sweet heart Tony Piro in 1955 and to this union were born four children: Anthony, Michael, Greg and Christine. Tony preceded her in death in 2009 after 54 years of marriage. Doris enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards, particularly hand and foot and skip-bo, reading, and helping her daughter Christine creating jewelry. She was a wonderful cook and a dedicated Mom; her family and children were her life. She is survived by her children Antony (Mary Grace) Piro, Michael (Phyllis) Piro & Christine Piro; grandchildren Vincent, Tony, Alissa, Erica, Michael, Joseph, Jacklyn, Clayton and Brittney and great-granddaughter Victoria. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Gertrude Monk and her son Gregory Piro. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday October 27 ^th at 11:00 AM in the Daniel Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her sisters Gracie Jones and Lois Melinga.
