Dora Mary Salazar-Montoya, 73, of Pinedale and former resident of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away Sunday January 21, 2018 at the Sublette Center in Pinedale. Dora was born August 25, 1944 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Victoriana (Esquibel) and Luis Montoya. She was born to a family of nine children including her siblings Mary, Emma, John, George, Aurelio, Patrick, Nazario, and Corinna. In her youth she lived in and attended schools in Rawlins, Wamsutter, and Aurora, Colorado. She married her lifelong sweetheart James Salazar Sr. on October 23, 1964 in Wamsutter, Wyoming. Together they raised their two sons Louis and James Jr. Dora was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion; she enjoyed playing cards and bingo and was a lifelong Roman Catholic. Her truest love and passion in life was her family, she was a loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband James Salazar Sr. of Pinedale, WY; sons Louis Salazar of Cheyenne, WY and James Salazar Jr. of Pinedale, WY; grandchildren Jessica, James, Desire, Gabriel, Carlos, Little Louis and many more grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Luis and Victoriana Montoya; sister Emma Lovato and brothers John Montoya and George V. Montoya. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held Saturday March 10th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rawilns, Wyoming. Upon conclusion a luncheon will follow the services.
