Donna Joy (Hix) Meeks, 72, of Big Piney passed away February 13, 2016 in Yuma, Arizona. She was born on August 7, 1943 to Lowell and Abigail Hix in Grant, Idaho at her Aunt Julie's house.
She was married on March 19, 1965 to Joseph Louis Meeks in Elko, Nevada and was the proud mother of two children, and three grandchildren. Survivors include her children Jodi (Randy)Spencer of Middleton, Idaho, Kurt (Jennifer) Meeks of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, grandchildren Joelle and Bradley Spencer of Middleton,Idaho and Perri Meeks of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Her brothers David (Carol) Hix of Great Falls, Montana, Douglas (Alene) Hix of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jerry (Rochelle) Hix also of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Donna had one brother in law, Kenney Meeks, of Big Piney, sisters in Law, Joanie (Ken) Spears and Louise Lowder of Kemmerer, Wyoming. Donna also had several nieces and nephews that she was so very proud of. She was preceded in death by husband, Joe, her parents, Abigail and Lowell, her sister Patricia Jenkins and brother in law Gene Jenkins, her step mother, Maude Patterson, and her special friend Dick Holgate. Services for Donna will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10 am at the Sublette County Senior Center in Marbleton, Wy with a burial following at Plainview Cemetery, and a dinner at the Senior Center. In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations to the Southwest Sublette County Senior Center in her memory. Our hearts are breaking for the loss of our sweet mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was truly the best and always had a smile for anyone she would meet. Donna was currently on the board of directors for the Senior Center. She loved playing pinochle at the senior center, gambling, rock hunting, going to her cabin, shopping and just enjoying her friends and family, She will be missed by many and our lives are touched by her love. She had so many dear friends that we feel so very blessed to have been a part of mom's life. They have been a huge help to our family.
