Don Stewart Martin was born on February 5, 1983, in Amarillo, Texas, to Sheila Ann Nelson and Don Stewart Martin II. He passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2026 at the age of 43. He was the second of three children, alongside his sister Jody Taylor and brother Jonathion Blasingame. Before he was two years old, the family returned to California, where both Sheila and Don were originally from. After his parents separated, Sheila later married Steven Blasingame, and when Don was around seven years old, the family moved to Central Oregon.

It was in Oregon that Don developed his lifelong love for the outdoors. He loved being in the woods and on the rivers. At the age of 12, he began working on a ranch outside of Diamond, Oregon, for Wayne and his daughter Missy, where he quickly fell in love with the ranching lifestyle. He spent summers and school vacations working there and carried that work ethic and appreciation for hard work throughout his life.

As he got older, Don worked falling timber, in lumber mills, and framing houses. He loved working with wood and being outdoors, and that passion stayed with him for the rest of his life.

In 2001, Don married Laura Ruth Saunders, and together they had two children, Lyndsey Nicole and Dustin Lane. They spent most of their married life in Southern Oregon before later divorcing in 2008.

When Oregon’s lumber industry declined during the economic downturn of 2007–2008, Don and his brother Jon left Oregon for Wyoming in search of work in the oil and gas industry. Don quickly found work as a welder’s helper, then as a roustabout, and eventually working on drilling rigs throughout Wyoming, Colorado, and North Dakota. He enjoyed the people he worked alongside and continued working in the oil and gas industry until 2019, when he transitioned into equipment operation and other construction-related work. He eventually found a home working for Hughes Enterprises as an equipment operator. Don was known as an incredibly hard worker who was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Not long after arriving in Wyoming, Don met and later married the love of his life, Deena Mae Roberts, in the fall of 2009. Together they built a life centered around family and the outdoors. They shared three children: Riley Myron, Wyatt Clancy, and Kali Mae.

Don loved fishing, floating rivers, hiking in the mountains, and spending time with family on Deena’s family ranch. He especially loved cooking for friends and family and gathering the people he cared about together. More than anything, Don loved being with his family. He rarely missed an opportunity to watch his kids play sports or spend time with them whenever he wasn’t working. One of his proudest moments in life was watching his son Dustin become a Marine.

Don is survived by his father, Don; his wife, Deena; his children Lyndsey (Bryce Wobbe), Dustin (Brooke), Riley, and Kali; his sister Jody (Dave); and his brother Jonathion. He is also survived by his nieces TJ Hamm (Cheyenne), Kyrsten Kenline-Keeler (Justen Keeler), Lainy Williams (Patrick), and Tayla Roberts; his nephews Ashten Kenline, Andre Kenline, Aiden (Emma)Kenline, RC Pape, and Jake Pape; and his great-nieces Daisy Kenline, Breckley Jo Williams, Isla Reagan Williams, Mila Leona Williams, Ellarya RayAnn Williams, Huxley Aurora Williams, Alessia Dawn Williams, and Jovi Rhodes Williams.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sheila Ann Nelson; his stepmother Rose Martin; his father-in-law Dru Myron Roberts; and his son, Wyatt Clancy Martin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sublette County Fairgrounds Community Hall Building.
