Derek Michael Meisner, 26, of Big Piney passed away January 29, 2015.

Derek was born November 29, 1988 in Wray, Colorado. He grew up and attended schools in Colorado and Wyoming graduating from Big Piney High School in 2007. During high school he competed in Skills U.S.A. Welding Competitions and was active in 4-H. After high school he went to Eastern Wyoming College the fall of 2007.

He was of Catholic faith and attended Catholic World Youth Day 2005 in Germany.

Derek loved fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoors-man. He was a skilled professional pipeline welder in the oil & gas industry.

He is survived by his parents Greg and Sarah Meisner; sister and brother Courtney and Zane Meisner; grandparents Sharon Meisner and Frank & Mary Nauyokas; aunts Shelley Morey, Kristy Meisner, Charisse Nauyokas, (god-mother Katie Nauyokas); Mary Cooper, Julie Nauyokas; Uncles (god-father Chris Nauyokas),  Pete Nauyokas, Joe Nauyokas, Glen Copper and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Meisner; uncle Michael Nauyokas; great grandparents Alvin & Ruth Stoll, Alec and Evelyn Meisner, James & Verna Brodi, Frank & Verna Nauyokas; and cousin Jacob Frank Nauyokas.

Funeral Mass will be held Tues. Feb. 3 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Big Piney. Rosary will be held Mon. evening at 6:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery.
