Darren Scott Mehler, 50, of La Barge, Wyoming passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer, Wyoming on May 14, 2017. Darren was born May 14, 1967 in Pasadena, California to Dr. Robert and Maureen (Boslow) Mehler. He grew up and received his formal schooling in Pasadena, California and later joined the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Military Police and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. It was here he met and married his sweetheart Christine Anne Smith; they were married June 26, 1993. Darren loved the outdoors and the recreation of living in Wyoming; he especially loved kayaking, four wheeling and guns and recreational shooting. Darren was of the Jewish Faith. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Christine Mehler of La Barge, WY; daughter Catherine (Joseph) Galloway and Grandson Bradley Scott Galloway of Salt Lake City, UT; son Mark Eitniear of Laramie, Wyoming; Parents Dr. Robert and Maureen Mehler of Los Angeles, CA; sisters Suzie Alexander, Laurel Mehler, Dianna M. (Scott) Buck, and Brenda (Itamar) Harrari all of California and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Elsie & John Mehler. A private family service will be held in California and a gathering of friends and family in Wyoming will take place later in the summer.
