Dale Everett Whitley, 84, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023, with his loved ones by his side.  He had recently suffered a stroke that was not survivable.

Dale Everett led an incredibly blessed life full of adventure and love.
Everett was born in Fresno, CA on March 26, 1939 to Willie Dolpha and Ina Mae (Crisel) Whitley, of Caruthers, CA.  He was joined three years later by his sister, Betty Ione.

Born during the historic struggles of California's dust bowl refugee era, Everett's early years were shaped by a close, loving family, where he learned the strong values of hard work, individual responsibility, and honorable character.

After schooling in the Caruthers district, Everett was drafted into military service. Being honorably discharged from the Army in 1963, he came home to family life in California's central valley.

A major life change and move to Oregon in 1970 introduced Everett to a career in forestry.  Winning government reforestation contracts spanning the US from east coast to west coast presented the fortunate opportunity to travel throughout this land, living and working in the natural beauty of its parks and forests.

A career change in 1995 brought Everett to Wyoming, a land that represented the spirit of individualism he so respected, and where he made his final home.

Dale Everett is preceded in death by his mother and father, older brothers Denver Doyle Whitley and James Edward Thomas, sister Betty Ione Rotea, grandson Chase Littlefield, and niece Renai Rotea Van Hoosen.

Dale Everett is survived by Bonnie Whitley, his wife and partner of 53 years, his children Michelle (Rigoberto) De la Cerda, Stacey (Jonathan) Pipes, Tammy Beaver, Rodger B Whitley, Dale Whitley JR, and Dana Scott Whitley, and his many grandchildren, great grand- children, nieces and nephews.  Nephews Daniel E Cook JR and William J Cook grew especially close to this born leader of men, who loved and guided them unconditionally.

Everett is remembered for his infectious smile, unconventional wit, thoughtfulness and respect for all mankind.  He loved nature, he loved people, and he loved crappie fishing!

Everett will be buried at the Boulder Cemetery, Boulder, Wyoming at 1:00 pm January 5, 2024.
