Dakota
Farley
Jul 30, 2001 — Feb 2, 2025
Big Piney
Dakota Seath Farley, 23, of Big Piney, Wyoming was killed in his home; his life was tragically and senselessly taken in the early morning hours of Sunday February 2, 2025. Dakota was born July 30, 2001 in Ogden, Utah to Ray and Pamela (Mason) Farley. Dakota was born into the middle of a family of three children, to include his two sisters Krista & Cadence. He spent his early childhood and elementary years in Ogden before his family moved to Star Valley where he attended middle school; and early in his high school days, he and his family moved to Pinedale where he attended and graduated from Pinedale High in 2019. After high school he moved to Big Piney where he was able to serve a service mission in the Kemmerer, Wyoming Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission he enrolled online with the Colorado State University and was working on his college degree. He was also employed at the Daniel Junction working as a clerk and helping out in the deli. Dakota loved to play basketball, he was a big gamer and was member of the Jackson Hole Moose Rugby team. Every chance he got he wanted to be outside; he loved to hunt, camp and fish. His favorite place to be was Boulder Lake, but as much as he loved fishing, his family says the fishing trips would often end up becoming a swimming event, because wherever he was, he loved playing in the water and in the sand of the beach. Dakota had a huge heart, he loved to meet people, loved his family and he cherished hugs. Dakota is survived by his parents Ray and Pamela Farley; sisters Krista (Willow) Montiel of Belgrade, MT, and Cadence Mason of Ogden, UT; grandparents Marck and Gaylynn Mason of Ogden, UT and grandmother Nancy Wallace of Big Piney. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Ray Lewis Farley. A funeral service will be held Friday February 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Big Piney Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the services at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
