Charles Wesley Kersey, 63, of Big Piney, Wyoming passed away at his home March 30, 2025 due to complications of heart failure. Charles was born August 25, 1961 in Augusta, Georgia to Wayron Leslie and Barbara Jean (Rawl) Kersey. He grew up and attended schools in the North Augusta, South Carolina area and he graduated from North Augusta High School. Charles was a welder by trade and those skills brought him to Sublette County in the early 2000's to work in the oil and gas industry. He met his sweetheart Shelly Gail Terrien, and they were married on January 16, 2018 in Big Piney, Wyoming. Charles loved the outdoors and being in the mountains, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and being on horseback. He also liked the racecar circuit and would follow the modified dirt-car/dirt track races whenever he got the chance. Charles is survived by his wife Shelly Terrien, children Wesley (Tara) Kersey of Douglas, WY and Crystal (Gage) Grant of Edgefield, SC; grandchildren Justin, Lanie, Sadie, Wade and Weston Kersey and Brayden, Grayson and Smith Grant; sisters Kay (David) Cox of Lakeland, FL and Lynn (Corey) Valkenburg of Green River, WY and several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Rawl and Leslie Kersey. Charles' wishes were to be cremated, and his family is planning for a celebration of life on Saturday May 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Silver Spur Bar in Big Piney.
