Cecil Lamar Hatcher left this world to be with his Savior and loved ones on December 28, 2022 in Idaho Falls, Idaho after sudden medical complications. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Cecil managed his medical challenges with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.

Cecil was born on August 8, 1940 in Harold, Florida to parents Oscar Hatcher and Leoma Wilson Hatcher.

He grew up swimming, fishing, and boating in the lakes and rivers of Florida. He raced boats, fished, hunted, played softball, shot pool, archery, played horseshoes among many activities. He was good at all of them. He attended the Harold Elementary School and graduated from Milton High School.

On August 18, 1960 Cecil married the love of his life, Brenda K. Cumbie.  Together they had three children. Kathy (Kelley) King of LaBarge, Warren (Laura) Hatcher of LaBarge and Melissa (Jess) Meeker of LaBarge. Cecil and Brenda were dedicated to raising and nurturing their family. They enjoyed all that the great outdoors provided as a family. One of their adventures led them out west to hunt mule deer. The whole family fell in love with the west and eventually all moved there. To be outdoors and with family was sweet success.

In the late 80's Cecil transferred with Exxon from Florida to Wyoming. He retired from Exxon after a much-enjoyed career in 1996. He served as deacon in the churches where he lived and helped in whatever way that he could. Cecil had the privilege of serving churches in Florida, Alabama and Wyoming. Cecil had a passion for sharing the gospel. He served on the board of the White Mountain Archers. He enjoyed his time at "The Barn" in Green River, Wyoming with his good friends.

Cecil is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Brenda Hatcher; his daughter Kathy (Kelley) King, Daughter in law Laura Hatcher; daughter Melissa (Jess), his brother Dennis (Sue) Hatcher; his sisters, Barbara Barnes, Linda (Ken) Cunningham, Ellen (Don) Belisle, and Beverly (Dallas) Holland; and a host of nephews and nieces that meant so much to him.

He is rejoicing with loved ones that went on before him. Cecil is preceded in death by his son Warren Hatcher; his mother Leoma Hatcher; his father Oscar Hatcher; his brother, Joseph "Jake" Hatcher; his brother, William "Dewey" Hatcher; and his sister, Betty Jean Richardson.

Cecil is survived by grandson JD (Codie) Bush, children Taylor and Carter; grandson Jonathon (Courtney) Bush, children Ayla, Ari, Reagen, Charlie; granddaughter Kimberly (Octavian) Dumitrescu, children Kate, Violet, Amelia; Kassi (Tim) Lamon and son Kole; Jed Hatcher, Nate Hatcher, Luke (Sarah) Hatcher, Samuel Hatcher; Dodge Meeker, Chase Meeker (fiancé DeAnna), and Veronica Meeker, all of whom carry on his traditions and strong family values.

Family and friends will celebrate the life of Cecil Hatcher at the Marbleton Senior Center Friday, January 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Following interment at the Plainview Cemetery we will return to the center for a meal.
