Obituary

Buddy LeRoy Brause passed away Friday January 31, 2020 at his home in Marbleton, WY after a long fight with cancer. Bud was born Sept 5, 1943 in Providence Rhode Island to Harold LeRoy and Anna E Lare Brause. From an early age, Bud always had a song in his heart and sang with joy. He bought his first guitar as soon as he could save enough money from his after-school jobs. The salesman showed him one chord and he taught himself to play it. Bud grew up in Calpet and La Barge, Wy and graduated from Big Piney High School in 1961. His first gig was with the Teen Beats.

After one and ½ years of college at USU, he decided to play full time with a Utah band; but Uncle Sam decided differently and drafted him into the Army. Before going overseas, Bud was home on leave and married his beloved wife, Margaret Alice Krell of Kemmerer on July 9, 1965. Bud was a Vietnam Veteran, 18th AVN, Cargo Mechanic, an Expert Rifleman, and was discharged with Honors, SPA E-4 (T).

Bud worked 30 years in the Natural Gas Industry and retired as Plymouth District Manager, Norwest Pipeline, Williams Company. He was an honest, hardworking and respected employee and boss. During this time his family moved with him when the transfers came… WY, CO, ID and OR. Bud continued playing in bands his whole life; playing in Vietnam for the troops, in CO with the Delicate Cycle and the Marlin Rice Trio.

Bud liked to travel and took his family on vacations: camping, swimming, hunting, fishing… the list was endless. He loved fast cars, motorbikes, and Rock'n Roll. Bud could visit with anyone listening to ideas and adventures; and he could tell a few stories of his own. He returned home to Big Piney and worked several more years before retiring again; still singing, dancing and making music with his guitars.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Anna Brause; His wife, Margaret Brause, and his son, Sean Garner Brause. He is survived by his son, Michael Shayne Brause, of Pendleton, OR; his daughter Shawna Lynne (Mike) Thompson of Hermiston, OR; Six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three brothers, Bill (Jackie) Brause of Kingman, AZ; Mike (Cindy) Brause of Marbleton, WY; Stan (Kelly) Brause of Foley, AL, and numerous nieces and Nephews. Also mourning his passing is his Companion, Glenna Johnson and her Family.
