Obituary

Andrea A. Brown (Andy) was born to Ivan Samuel (Pete) and Edna Lorraine Hoagland on September 24, 1944, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Andy was raised on the Guio Ranch in Big Piney, Wyoming. Andy developed a love for ponies and horses when she was young. She liked the outdoors and rarely spent time in the house. Andy and her dad were very close; he taught her everything she knew about horses and that helped her play with and train her ponies when she was young. As she grew, she started breaking ponies for herself and other kids. Andy enjoyed barrel racing and showing hoses. She was very accomplished and did very well in rodeos and horse shows in the surrounding areas. Andy was the Big Piney Chuck Wagon Days Queen sometime in the late 50's or early 60's.

She met her husband to be Thomas L. Brown in 1961 and later married on March 20, 1962 prior to Tom's service in the United States Army. They were stationed in Redmond, Washington where their first child Deborah Lynn (Debbie) was born. After Tom left the Army, they moved back to Sublette County working on ranches in Cora and Big Piney. It was then that their second child Loring Ivan (Brownie) was born. Tom went back to school and became a teacher and a coach. Both Tom and Andy worked for the Big Piney School District until they both retired in 2000.

Andy preceded in death May 31, 2020 by her mother and father, Edna and Pete Hoagland. Her sister and brother Neva Jorgenson and Donnie Pope, and her daughter Debbie Brown.

Andy survived by her husband Tom Brown, her son Brownie and his wife Tina, granddaughter Donnell Eiden and grandsons Colt Quintard and Brian Brown. Great grandchildren Justin and Taylynn Eiden and Taylyx Quintard.

A memorial service will be held Sunday July 19th at 2:00 PM at the Sublette County Fairgrounds Outdoor Arena. Memorial contributions in Andy's memory can be made to Kickin' Cancer in Sublette County, P.O. Box 687, Pinedale, WY 82941.
