Allan Reed, a resident of Pinedale, Wyoming for 51 years, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on July 19, 2016. At the time of his death Allan had suffered from a stroke, complicated by additional medical conditions. He was receiving hospice care at St. John's Hospital in Jackson when he expired. Allan was born on January 11, 1930 in Livingston, Montana. After several moves, in 1935 his immediate family settled in Riverside, California. He served in the Korean War after which he married Faith Renne on April 16, 1955. In 1965 from the invitation of his brother in-law Darrell Renne, Allan moved his now family of five to Pinedale. He started a successful construction business which transitioned into concrete-ready mix. He was very active in his church, loved to climb and hunt in his beloved Wind River Mountains and was a pilot flying a Piper J3 Cub and Cessna 180. At 86 while still using a walker he made early AM trips to meet his friends at Stockman's for coffee, also known as the local Rusty Zipper-Club. He was known for his colorful personality, and his "embellished" stories of the road. He carried a thankful and cheerful attitude to the end of his life. His very last spoken word was "Baloney!" He is survived by his wife of 61 years Faith Reed, three children David and wife Wendy, Neil and wife Lori, and Renne, and 5 grandchildren Zachary, Kenny, McKinley, Ryan and Anna Reed and his only surviving brother Larry Tesler of Riverside, California. His greatest wish in life was that all mankind would come to know the saving grace of his Lord Jesus Christ. The Reed family wishes to thank our close friends who cared for Allan and Faith over these past few years, and a gracious thank you to the Pinedale community as a whole and especially the EMT's, doctors and staff at the Pinedale Medical Clinic who treated Allan with great kindness at the end. Funeral services will be held at Covill Funeral Home on Monday, July 25th at 11:00 a.m. to be followed by a luncheon at First Baptist Church on North Tyler Avenue.
